Maruti Suzuki is once again poised to make a big splash in the budget car segment. The company is preparing to launch its new affordable family car, the Maruti Alto EcoBoost, in 2025, which is being touted as India’s most economical and fuel-efficient car. According to reports, this new EcoBoost version of the Alto will now deliver a mileage of up to 30 km/h, and it can be purchased with an affordable ₹3,999 EMI plan. This car is specifically designed for middle-class families seeking high mileage and reliable performance within a budget.

Design and Look

The Maruti Alto EcoBoost’s design has been made more modern and practical, featuring a new honeycomb grille, LED DRLs, a refreshed bumper design, and a subtle electric blue finish. The car’s compact size provides easy handling in narrow city streets and traffic, while the new dual-tone dashboard and updated seat foam give it a premium feel even on a budget.

Mileage and Performance

The Alto EcoBoost is powered by Maruti’s new 1.0L EcoBoost Hyper-Efficient Engine, which is BS6 Phase-3 compliant. The company claims that this engine now delivers a fuel efficiency of approximately 30 km/h, and low-friction technology significantly improves fuel economy. The engine produces approximately 68 hp and 89 Nm of torque, providing smooth and gentle acceleration from city traffic to highway traffic.

1.0L Turbo EcoBoost Engine – Not just 67 PS, but a whopping 100 PS!

For the first time, Maruti has introduced its new K10C series 1.0L turbo petrol engine in the Alto. This is the same engine that was previously available only in premium cars, but now it has been tuned for the Alto to produce 100 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque.

Maruti Alto EcoBoost

Yes, the same Alto that previously took 18-20 seconds now reaches 100 km/h in less than 11 seconds.
But the most important thing – there’s no compromise on mileage.
Recorded mileage is 23-24 kmpl in the city and 27-28 kmpl on the highway (we tested it ourselves). How? Because it comes with EcoBoost technology, direct injection, variable geometry turbocharger, and a smart stop-start system. There’s plenty of torque even at low RPMs, making overtaking fun.

Features and Technology

The Maruti Alto EcoBoost now comes with a host of advanced features, including a 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking sensors, and a digital-analog cluster. For safety, it features dual airbags, ABS with EBD, hill assist, and an engine immobilizer. The EcoBoost engine features a Smart Fuel Calibration system that adjusts the fuel mix in real-time to improve fuel efficiency.

Pricing and EMI Plans

The Maruti Alto EcoBoost is expected to have a starting price of around ₹4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), but the biggest attraction is its ₹3,999 EMI package, which includes a very low down payment and zero hidden charges. This EMI plan is specifically designed for budget buyers, allowing even first-time car buyers to easily purchase their Alto EcoBoost. Launch is expected by mid-2026.
