Hello friends! If you’re one of the millions of people looking for an affordable and reliable bike for your daily commute to the office or college, then this post is for you. I’ve recently taken a close look at both of these bikes – the Honda SP 125 and the TVS Raider 125.

On one hand, there’s Honda’s classic reliability, and on the other, TVS’s sporty vibe. Confused, aren’t you? Don’t worry, today we’ll do a complete comparison of their price, features, mileage, and performance. And yes, all of this in simple terms, like a casual chat between friends. Let’s get started, and at the end, I’ll tell you which one is perfect for you!

Honda SP 125 Vs TVS Raider 125: Complete Price Details

First, let’s talk about the most important thing – the price. Prices in the market fluctuate a bit these days, but according to the latest information as of December 2025, the Honda SP 125 starts at ₹85,815 (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the base Drum variant, which is best for those on a budget.

If you want the Disc brake version, the price goes up to around ₹90,000, and the top Anniversary Edition reaches ₹94,069. In total, there are three main variants – Drum, Disc, and Special Edition. Including insurance and RTO charges, the on-road price comes in under ₹1 lakh. Now, it’s the TVS Raider 125’s turn. It seems a bit cheaper initially – the base Drum variant is available from ₹80,750. But as the features increase, the price also jumps. Mid-variants like the Single Seat Disc are priced at ₹86,650, the iGO Boost Mode at ₹90,750, and the top TFT ABS version at ₹96,100.

There are a total of seven variants, including cool options like the Super Squad Edition. I heard from a friend who bought the mid-variant of the Raider and said that the value for money is amazing. But remember, Honda has a higher resale value in the long run. So if your budget is tight, start with the Raider; otherwise, choose the simplicity of the Honda.

Honda SP 125 Vs TVS Raider 125: Engine and Performance Comparison

Now let’s talk about the heart of the matter – the engine. Both are in the 125cc segment, but there’s a difference in tuning. The Honda SP 125 has a 123.94 cc air-cooled engine that delivers 10.87 PS of power and 10.9 Nm of torque. It’s designed for smooth running – perfectly comfortable in stop-and-go city traffic.

The top speed is up to 110 km/h, but in the real world, it cruises comfortably at 90-100 km/h. I myself once rode it for 50 kilometers, and there were zero vibrations! The fuel injection system also makes for silent starting, perfect for those who leave early in the morning.

Honda SP 125 Vs TVS Raider 125

On the other hand, the TVS Raider 125’s 124.8 cc air-oil cooled engine is a bit more youthful – 11.2 bhp of power and 11.2 Nm of torque (up to 11.75 Nm in Boost mode). It’s tuned for a sporty feel, so the acceleration is quicker. The claimed top speed is 99 km/h, but riders say it easily reaches 105 km/h.

If you want to enjoy a bit of speed on the highway, the Raider wins. Both have a 5-speed gearbox, but the Raider’s shifting feels a bit crisper. Overall, Honda for daily commuting, Raider for fun riding.

Honda SP 125 Vs TVS Raider 125: The World of Features

Features are what make a bike go from basic to stylish. The Honda SP 125 keeps it simple – analog-digital console, LED headlight, Combi Brake System (CBS), and a USB charger (in the disc variant). The Honda SP 125 has practical features like a side stand engine cut-off and silent start. It comes in 7 color options – black, red, blue, etc. It weighs 117 kg and has a seat height of 790 mm, which is suitable for average height riders. However, it lacks advanced technology, which might appeal to old-school riders.

The TVS Raider 125 shines here! It boasts a full digital cluster, Bluetooth connectivity (with the SmartXonnect app for navigation and call alerts), and Eco and Sport riding modes. The top variant features single-channel ABS, LED lights all around, and a USB Type-C port.

It comes in 14 colors – from Wicked Black to the Iron Man edition!

It weighs 125 kg and has a seat height of 780 mm, which is better for shorter riders. I once saw the Raider’s TFT variant, and the dashboard was impressive – it looked like a smartphone mounted on the bike. However, maintenance is easier with the Honda, while the Raider’s extra features might lead to slightly higher service costs.

Honda SP 125 vs TVS Raider 125: Mileage and Fuel Efficiency

Mileage is the factor that saves on petrol bills, especially with today’s high prices. The Honda SP 125 offers an ARAI-certified 63 kmpl, and in real-world conditions, you can expect 60-65 kmpl.

With an 11-liter tank, it offers a range of 650-700 kilometers. Expect 55-60 kmpl in the city and 65+ kmpl on the highway. Honda’s refinement means the engine consumes less fuel, making it ideal for long rides. The TVS Raider 125 has a claimed mileage of 71.94 kmpl, but in reality, it’s closer to 55-60 kmpl. Using Boost mode reduces it slightly. Its 10-liter tank provides a range of 550-600 kilometers. Due to its sportier tuning, it lags behind the Honda in mileage, but the riding modes offer some control. If your focus is solely on mileage, go for the Honda; otherwise, the Raider offers a good balance.
