The demand for electric vehicles is constantly increasing in India and in view of this trend, Kia Motors is also preparing to launch its popular model Seltos in the electric avatar in the EV segment. Electric Design: Exterior Look and Styling
The design of the Kia Seltos EV 2025 is inspired by the traditional Seltos, but several changes have been made to suit the needs of an electric vehicle. The front has a closed grille, which improves aerodynamics and gives the car a futuristic look. The charging port is placed at the front, which is convenient. The bumpers have been revised, with a connecting strip of LED headlights, which makes the car look attractive. L-shaped LED taillights and diamond-cut alloy wheels further enhance its styling.
The overall shape of the car is similar to that of a compact SUV, but the EV version has been seen with two different front fascias, which were spotted during testing. This design seems to be inspired by Kia’s other EVs like the EV6, but maintains the Seltos identity. Colour options can include options like white, black, blue and green, which match the eco-friendly theme. Overall, the car is designed to appeal to young buyers.
The design focuses on aerodynamics, which improves range. The car is expected to be around 4315 mm in length, 1800 mm in width and 1645 mm in height, making it suitable for both city roads and highways. Roof rails and sporty looks give it an adventurous feel.
Battery and Range
The company can offer a battery pack of about 60 kWh in the Seltos EV, which will offer a range of about 450-500 km on a single full charge. Fast charging support will also be provided in it, so that this SUV can be charged up to 80% in just 45-50 minutes. Talking about performance, this electric motor can generate power up to 200 bhp, which will give it a powerful and smooth driving experience.
Features and Technology
Kia Seltos EV will be equipped with high-tech features. It can have features like a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and panoramic sunroof. For safety, it will have features like 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP and lane-keeping assist.
Interior Luxury: A blend of comfort and technology
The interior of the Seltos EV has a modern touch, which comes with EV-specific updates. Dual-tone upholstery with orange accents livens up the cabin. Ambient LED lighting sets the mood. The center has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, a 10-inch digital driver display shows important information. Features such as wireless charging, Bose premium sound system and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are included. ADAS includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and automatic emergency braking.
The seats are comfortable, with ventilated front seats and rear AC vents. Boot space is around 433 liters, which is sufficient for family trips. The steering column-mounted gear selector is a hallmark of EVs, which saves space. Overall, the interiors are minimalist yet tech-rich, reflecting Kya’s signature style.
Powerful performance: Battery, range and speed are amazing
The Seltos EV could have two battery options: 56.5 kWh and 64 kWh. These support fast-charging, with 80% charge possible in 45 minutes. The electric motor generates 204 bhp and 395 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Talking about range, the smaller battery could offer a range of up to 400 km and the larger one up to 450 km, while some reports claim up to 473 km.
It is front-wheel drive, but an all-wheel drive variant could also come. The regenerative braking system recovers energy, increasing the range. Drive modes such as Eco, Normal and Sport are available, which customize the performance. Overall, this car delivers great performance both in the city and on the highway, without any emissions.
Launch and Price
The Kia Seltos EV 2025 can be launched in India by the end of next year. Its estimated price can be between ₹ 20 lakh to ₹ 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with SUVs like MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona EV and the upcoming Tata Curvv EV.
